Viv + Bo – Scandinavian inspired homewares

Indian Clay Hanging Pot
This vintage Indian plant pot hung on jute strings. Living in the woods, we are surrounded by nature so it is nice to also bring a touch of that indoors. In our bathroom we have a beautiful hanging ivy (Hedera) plant and whilst Ivy isn’t something I like climbing, strangling and potentially killing trees, it does look fabulous in our home and is great in the bathroom with it’s decoratively marked leaves. Free from anything that it could attach itself to, it hangs over the bath beautifully in an Indian Clay Hanging Pot from Viv + Bo. As mentioned, I am not generally an Ivy fan, however, Ivy also helps purify the surrounding air; trapping significant levels of potentially damaging gas particles in our home and gives us oxygen in return, so it couldn’t be more perfect in our bathroom.

Star T-Light
Shaped like a Star and beautifully made in iron and glass with an antique brass finish, this is a wonderful addition to our home, it will be perfect at Christmas, but for now, it sits in my workroom and as it flickers, it gives out a beautiful light.

Hanging Porcelain Tree
A beautiful Nordic inspired white porcelain tree hanging on jute string.

Hanging Wooden Bird
A lovely Scanidinavian addition to Christmas decorations is this hanging wooden bird on jute string.

Resin Antler
This lovely antler is perfect for creating a unique display.

Cotton Wall hanging
This is a handmade cotton wall hanging set around a wooden ring and sits above the bed in our spare room.

And so, to this Month’s Winner…

To enter the competition, I asked you to share a photo of a morning ritual on Instagram that helped you start your day the right way. Thank you to every single one of you who entered; I really loved all of your photos and seeing your morning rituals that set you up for a happy day.

Anna @poppifleur, you have won a Madam Stoltz ceramic cup from Viv + Bo. This beautiful ceramic cup, is handmade and a beautiful shade of blue. It has got a really lovely weight to it (something I appreciate in a mug!) and the size is ideal (7x7cm) for your morning coffee or brew. Please contact me with your address and I will pop your prize in the post this week.

This lovely morning capture and caption really summed up why I introduced this hashtag:

MY SLOW MORNING WITH Viv + Bo – PHOTO COURTESY OF @poppifleur

“We don’t really do slow mornings with the rush of the school run and my overly fidgety  children, so for me to sit down and have a cup of coffee is very rare! BUT I do get to sit down and have a breather when I brush the kids teeth ~ it sounds funny I know! And teeth brushing in this household is a very important ritual 🙂 ~ and a good way to set you up for the day  I mean, who wants furry teeth and honky breath? ”

It goes without saying, Anna’s daughter is absolutely beautiful and this wonderful morning scene is one we all face and as Anna said, it is these moments that often create a bit of a breather in the morning. A “slow morning” isn’t always about having masses of time to sit and drink coffee, it is about a moment, to be truly present and aware. To slow things down, even for a brief second is often all one needs to focus the mind on the day ahead, and this capture really is just that.

I look forward to seeing more during next month’s #myslowmorning_ photo competition, watch this space as there is another absolutely gorgeous prize on offer!
