At home with the creatures of the woods – Smock and Ballpoint
Have you ever wished that you could bring the outdoors in? The beautiful songbirds and other tiny (magical!) creatures that roam our gardens and woodland?
Often the odd finch will fly into our home, when we have our doors thrown open in the Summer months, but during colder Winter months, often the only bird seen nearby is our friendly robin who follows me wherever I go around the garden… sometimes, even fluttering about the woods as we go for our walks.
When I was contacted by Smock and Ballpoint, I completely fell for the stunning designs and illustrations of whimsical wildlife and was delighted to welcome these creatures into our woodland home.

I chose to place a flying goldfinch next to a woodland find which hangs over the entrance into our kitchen from the hall, giving the impression that the bird is about to land on it.
Of course, in our woodland, and in many homes, there are some other creatures that creep in, especially in Winter months… every year, we walk our woods and bring in our woodland fairy doors for a clean up and repair; the fairies are then ‘rehomed’ and this year, they have moved into our daughter’s bedroom!
