When Emma arrived in the woods – Emma Mattress

Some might say that as a creature of the woods, I am a creature of habit, and they would be right…

I love my daily routine of waking, walking the dogs, going on adventures with my daughter, settling down of an evening, cooking, kicking back, then heading to bed, and it is the hours of sleep I really depend on to feel ready to face the world.

The average night’s sleep is eight hours, so when you look at it in simple terms, we sleep for one third of our life! So, when it comes to the bed we sleep in, we have always felt that it is well worth the investment and investigation to find the ‘perfect match’.

We have a wonderful memory foam mattress in our bedroom, however, when it came to the finishing touches and furnishing our spare room, we were on the look out for something equally as comfortable. Our spare room has been the latest ‘work-in-progress’ project in our home and we are so thrilled having just added an Emma Mattress for our guests to sleep on.

Combining 4 special layers (hypersoft-layer, pressure-relieving pocket springs, memory foam and a supporting layer of cold foam) Emma Mattress developed a mattress that not only supports your body while you sleep, but also relaxes your body at the same time.

As someone who suffers from a chronic illness, Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS), two of the main symptoms are chronic fatigue and chronic back pain caused by inflammation and I have to say, the Emma Mattress has been an absolute dream to sleep on.

The Emma Mattress arrived enveloped in film and in a surprisingly neat cardboard box, which was ideal for manoeuvring into the spare room. My husband took delivery and even though the measurements were clearly labeled on the side of the box, he simply didn’t believe me when I told him it was the correct size and that the mattress unfolds.

We decided to wait for the weekend to open the package up so that we could prove each other wrong! Imagine my delight (and his horror!) that I was right and the Emma Mattress was the correct size for the double bed in our spare room.

Enclosed is a handy tool (my husband was so impressed, he has squirrelled it away for himself!) to cut the film that surrounds the mattress. Once the protective film is removed, the mattress slowly comes to life (our daughter was squealing with excitement by this point!) and the mattress is then ready to use. You can see a video of the mattress coming to life in our spare room at the end of this post!

I am, however, someone who believes in full disclosure, so I feel that I should be completely honest with my readers about any issues that arise with products I share, so I will end this post with the only problem we have had with the Emma Mattress…

…Thanks to the Emma Mattress, I now only want to sleep in the spare room.

Jokes aside, there is nothing about this mattress I can fault; not only is there free delivery, easy-peasy free delivery and a 100 night trial, I was also able to prove my husband wrong for once!!
